SCBA Flow-Testing

SCBA's (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) per NFPA 1852. NFPA 1852 mandates that all SCBA must be tested at least once per year.

American Cylinder and Safety, LLC offers comprehensive flow-testing with the PosiCheck3 computerized SCBA performance tester. Periodic testing is crucially important. Flow-testing determines the operational fitness of an SCBA by means of a series of dynamic tests and functional checks. Flow-testing quantitatively determines whether the current performance of an SCBA meets NIOSH and NFPA requirements. We will provide a computer printout for each SCBA testing.

Respirator Fit Testing

OSHA 29 CRF 1910.134 Respiratory Protection requires proper fitting respirator facepieces prior to initial use of a respirator and annually thereafter, or whenever a different make, model, style or

size  facepiece is utilized. American Cylinder and Safety, LLC provides a quantitative fit test. Fit test reports, reflecting all fit test factors, are provided at the completion of the test.

There are two primary reasons for respirator fit testing: 1) Verification of training. After an individual has received respirator training you perform a fit test to make certain that the person has learned how to properly put on and wear a respirator without assistance. 2) Sizing. It is important to make sure that the individual will be issued a respirator that is size to be capable of providing protection when worn properly.
